Missing an addendum can make a bid nonresponsive.

A bid addendum is a formal revision to solicitation documents after the original issue date. Addenda can change drawings, specifications, dates, or submission requirements. In Florida public work, your bid is generally expected to reflect all issued addenda—silence is not a safe strategy.

Where addenda appear

Depending on the agency, addenda may post on the same page as the solicitation, inside a procurement portal’s Q&A tab, or via email to registered vendors. Note where each active pursuit publishes revisions the day you download plans.

A simple tracking process

1. Assign one owner per active pursuit.
2. Log each addendum number, release date, and summary in your bid log.
3. Re-run scope review when drawings or specs change—not just when dates move.
4. Confirm subcontractors and suppliers received revisions.
5. Acknowledge addenda per the solicitation’s instructions at submission.

Common failures

• Monitoring only the agency homepage instead of the portal thread
• Assuming email notice will arrive before the due date
• Updating price without updating scope after a specification change
